The distinguishing methods include:

Matte rayon is brighter than silk. Wet the silk with the tip of your tongue. If it is easy to break in a wet place, it is matte rayon. If it is constantly wet, it is silk. Whether the fiber is dry or wet, it is not easy to break, that is, Synthetic fiber. Then conduct combustion identification

1. Burn. Ignite a small amount of fibers with fire. Silk fibers can ignite, but they go out immediately after leaving the open flame, and emit a smell of burnt hair. The residue is gray and can be crushed when pinched with a finger. We found that if it is a regular chemical fiber, it will continue to burn rapidly after leaving the open flame, with a plastic burning smell, and the residue is small black balls, with a hard texture and difficult to crush. If it is cotton, it will continue to burn after leaving the open flame, with a light odor, similar to burning paper, and the residue is also gray black, which can be easily crushed when pinched.

2. Touch with your hand. Real silk is soft and delicate, and feels elastic when touched by hand. Due to the fine pore structure on natural fibers, there is sometimes a feeling of "astringency and stickiness". However, synthetic fibers and other silk like materials have a rough or exceptionally smooth feel.

3. Observe the gloss. The luster of silk products is elegant and bright, but not dazzling. There are many reflective and refractive surfaces, which are irregular and similar to the luster of pearls. Although some chemical fibers are also bright, their color is pale and dazzling.

4. Soak in boiling water. Put a small amount of fiber into boiling water, and the one with no significant change in shape in a short period of time is silk, while the one with rapid bending and sinking is chemical fiber. After drying, the length of silk remains almost unchanged, while chemical fibers show significant shrinkage.

5. Water test: Take a small amount of fiber, wet it with dripping water in the upper position, and then pull it. Matte rayon generally breaks in areas that are only wet, while silk may break at any point, making it difficult to break in both dry and wet states. It is a synthetic fiber.

6. Comparison of creases: Take some fibers and repeatedly fold and knead them in half. Silk has good elasticity and no creases. And matte rayon has obvious creases that are difficult to recover. If there are slight creases but gradually recover, it is synthetic fibers such as nylon.
